What is IMPACT?
IMPACT is a speech & debate club for Christian Homeschool families.
We participate in the Christian Communicators of America (CCA) league, and compete in the tournament competitions they organize.

What Is Forensics?
Merriam-Webster defines Forensics as
"The art or study of argumentative discourse."
For IMPACT, it is the practices of Speech and Debate that we use to develop skills of critical thinking, argumentation, and communication.
Speech
In CCA, students compete in different categories under three main genres of speeches:
Public Address, Oral Interpretation, and Limited Preparation.
The age ranges for competition include:
Varsity (13-18,) Junior Varsity (9-13,) and Junior (5-8.)
Debate
In CCA, students compete in a Team Policy Debate format. They are in a team of two, and compete against another team in each debate round. CCA announces one topic (policy resolution) to be debated the whole year.
The age range for competition is: 14-18.
